YTS welded wire fabric is manufactured to comply to the requirement of Malaysian Standard MS145:2001 - Steel Fabric for the Reinforcement of Concrete. The cold reduced steel wires used in the manufacturing of YTS fabric complies to the Malaysian Standard MS144:2001 - Cold Reduced Mild Steel wire for the reinforcement of Concrete, which stipulates a minimum characteristic yield strength (0.2% proof stress) of 485 N/mm2. While the shear strength of each weld is at least half of the yield strength (250 N/mm2) of the wires which ensures that the necessary anchorage can be developed.
YTS fabric as a reinforcing material for concrete is suitable for most of the reinforcement of concrete structures such as concrete floor slabs, shear walls, retaining walls, footing, concrete roads and pavements, concrete drains, prcast concrete components and also for anti-crack purposes.
TIME AND LABOUR
YTS fabric can be produced normal cut-to-size same form in which time labour can be saved from sorting, cutting and tying.
Wastage will be saved with the use of cut-to-size YTS fabric. The usage of conventional steel bars usually results in a wastage of 5% or more, depending on the level of supervision and control. Furthermore, with a characteristic yield strength of 485 N/mm2 which is superior to that of normal steel bars, less steel will be used to achieve the same strength. The specified characteristic yield strength of the various type of steel bars in comparision to hard drawn steel wire which is used to manufacture our YTS fabric.
